The ordering and names of the files are weird on HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY and !!!!!SAF EWEWEWDE, but just look at the website (zekevirant.com) for proper track order.

…my friends and I are doing a staged reading of my new performance piece, Bottles, Nails, & Tambourines. Here’s a thing I wrote up for it:

BOTTLES, NAILS, and TAMBOURINES
a new performance piece by Zeke Virant
Thursday, May 14, at the Blum/Avery Amphitheater, 7:00pm.

Featuring three scenes of music, drama, and noises: bottles blowing in heavenly wind, earthly, enticing sound of hammers and nails, and tambourines rattling in hellfire. An attempt at a freer synthesis of orchestra and theater.

Featuring the talents of:

Sara Frier
Zoe Morris
Michael Newton
Sarah Paden
Ted Quinlan
James Reid
Samuel Stonefield
Timothy Palma
Leslie Allison
Alexis Wade

Bring food, drink, and friends! We’ll have a great time!

In case of rain, we’ll figure out a rain date later.

So, after a lot of juggling, I am releasing an album (a CD) on Mix Tapes (records?). As of now, you can download a lot of the songs for free, and I’m sure you will be able to do that later, but this will be a hard copy for anybody who wants a hard copy.

The track listing looks like this:

1. Lane, your eyes are pilots
2. How much corn can you put up your nose?
3. Baby, Don’t Cry
4. Feelings
5. There You Are!
6. The Wrinkler
7. You Didn’t Kiss Me Like You Said You Should
8. The Road
9. Apple Pie
10. Duet
11. Zeke Virant
12. Lord in Heaven
13. I want to be the one you trust.
14. Georgia, South Georgia
15. Vocal
16. The Fine Flowers in Town Look Fine
17. Big Booted Lesbian
18. Love on the Beach
19. You
20. At the Ocean

That’s not final, but we’ll figure it out. Let me know if you can think of a nice album title.

All my best,

Zeke

HELLO again.

Last show with the Triangle Goons was a blast. Tonight, I’m doing a show in Brooklyn with Sam Rosen and Birth. (Birth, which is Aaron Wistar and I, are Sam Rosen’s band.) It is sure to start around 9 or 10 and cost around $3 to 5. The show is at N 13th and Wythe. I’m doing another show with Sam come March 7th at Sarah Lawrence College.

Also, another new song. This one is about imagining oneself nude in a mirror. You.

Here’s something that has been floating around for a while, and I recorded it yesterday. Imagine rooms.

Love at the Beach

In other news, Shades McGlenn, myself, and the Triangle Goons are playing at Smog at Bard College next Friday… sometime around 8? I’ll also be playing with Dickswitch.

Here’s the roster: Dickswitch (an improv group of my friends, Sepsis (a dear friend and wonderful musician), Homones (Sepsis and Dan Raskin’s collab), Horseless, and the Herons (wonderful local noise guys… beautiful people).

Hope to see you there!
